There was also a time when hotels were seen as great comfort, sometimes even luxury.
It almost seems that it has become reversed. Now it is hotel rooms that seem to be too cramped and stuffed, and, instead of a kitchen sink, they have a television set at the foot of the bed.
Whereas studio apartments have become quite trendy; modern interior designs and a comfortable studio apartment bring a greater level of satisfaction than big, cold apartments. Not to mention many ingenious solutions for compact furniture, where with a light tap on the corner of the closet, a queen sized bed folds down, or a coffee table slides out.
What do hotels have to do with studio apartments?
The answer is rather simple – holiday apartments for rent. Indeed, many travellers prefer feeling at home at the end of an adventurous day, instead of coming back to the personality-lacking and generic hotel room.
Others see it as a wiser budget choice, especially when talking about travelling couples with a baby or small children. Hotels tend to charge per person, not per room, including added costs for bringing in a crib or a small fold-out bed for the child; apartment hotels are glad to accommodate their guests as best as they can.
This leads me into pointing out that having your own kitchen while travelling is also of great added value; sometimes choosing a place to eat is frustrating, and sometimes you are just too tired from exploring the city to be going out to eat to begin with. Other times it is another budget decision, or sometimes even a dietary necessity.
Take my word for it – look into staying in an apartment hotel during your next vacation! I assure you that you will never want to stay in a regular hotel again.
